I got my new Nike Zoom Sister One+ shoes about a month ago on a Taylor Momsen interview for Teen Vogue. Nike found that too many women were wearing running shoes for their gym workouts so they developed a lighter shoe with soles that aid side to side movement. Personally, I wear mine to avoid the 'American tourist in Europe' look that white sneakers create. They also remind me of this recent Olsen ensemble.

Technical Virgin

The new Agent Provocateur Virgins Collection has landed with Pixie Geldof as this season's face. While the collection has some beautiful pieces, I like my Geldof girls in their natural state--grunged up and coke faced just like my favorite AP predecessor. Speaking of which, anyone else for bringing back Kate?

Crime Watch
There is an Ugg thief (yes, I wear Uggs sometimes) on the loose in the Fort Greene area, probably lurking under the stairs at Crunch. The criminal has extremely poor taste and no regard for resale value. I am going out now to find some replacement boots for the snow, I'll let you know what I come back with. This is obviously my punishment for owning Uggs in the first place.

Eye Witness

What do Pam Anderson, Ru Paul, and Lil Kim all have in common? All three tranny faces have been M.A.C spokesmodels of course. I spotted the new Studio Sculpt Concealer at work yesterday and thought, what better to disguise my insomniac eyes than the make up thats hidden hepatitis face, bruises, and five o'clock shadow for years! I'll let you know how it goes.

Lady Like

It's a recession: fashion week is dying, Saks looks like Lohman's, and YSL is on sale, but I'm not getting any closer to owning a Dior bag. Luckily I have a very generous boss who imparted upon me this adorable Lady Dior Compact/keyring today. If only I could morph into a mini-me "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Style," and carry this bad boy on my shoulder. For now I'll have to settle for my house keys--who knows, maybe I'll forget them less now that they look so chic!
Super Power
I'm an Absolut and seltzer girl, maybe I'll have a splash of cranberry if I'm feeling adventurous but cocktail menus are a definite no. From the martini glass to the candy color, I am usually steadfast in my no-smoretini, cotton plop, rusted cherry, applepolotan policy. Enter Ditch Plains's innovative new drink list featuring Nutri- Soda mixed with infused vodka. These aren't "Sex and the City's" cocktails and they even come in a real glass. How could I deny mixers with names like "radiant, energize and slender" and with 0-10 calories? I'm sold!

Catch of the Day

Alkemie Shark Tooth Necklace, Intermix.com.
I found this today at the Intermix on Prince St. (Thank you, Jeff) and it brought back a dormant obsession with animal teeth. That doesn't sound right. The point is, pretty jewelry makes me uncomfortable so this Alkemie necklace really hits the spot. It's also made of entirely reclaimed metal, which is my way of saying "sorry, environment" for wearing so many dead animals!

Stomp the Yard
They say you shouldn't repeat a trend if you lived through it the first time. Fuck that. I'm back in my Dr. Martens again after about an eight year break, thanks in part to Erin Wasson and Daisy Lowe (she's featured in their new ad campaign), both of whom make the boots look irresistible. Jeff got me a new pair for Christmas and I've been wearing them with everything from skinnies to shiny leggings, and even paired them, in true nineties glory, with boot cut jeans.

On the Record

Between school and work, I'm always recording things, and have been on a constant search for the right recorder. While searching around online yesterday, I found the Belkin TuneTalk; the perfect remedy for the traditional recorder. This little nugget clips right onto my ipod and uploads everything it records automatically!

Cinderella Story
Monday night I went over to Ricardo Rojas Salon for some R&R. I love this place; the everything is shiny and black with bright pink accents, and the staff are amazing. Ricardo darkened my washed out hair and added a glaze as well as some much needed trimming. The beautiful Colleen Runne also did a hydrating oxygen facial and finished off with a nice natural make-up application, while I got a speedy manicure. With all this pampering I almost forgot about finals...

Sparkles
Thursday night I met Nicky from the Sephora Pro-Team. There are only 14 Sephora pros nation wide and Nicky is from Sheffield, England, so I loved her even more. She gave me a really out of character smoky eye, or "the punched eye look" as she called it. I promised Nicky I would practice the look myself, we'll see...
