Last Saturday I had lunch at Souen, my favorite NYC restaurant and spotted these two. I couldn't put my finger on who they were, but thanks to Hanneli, who spotted them too, I have an answer. It's Stefano Pilati (and a stylish lady friend), creative director of Yves Saint-Laurent!
These are just what I prescribe to replace the ubiquitous flannel shirt. Yesterday I snapped up the Diesel one and plan on pairing it with all black and pretending I'm a cowgirl.
So I'm back in the snow with only one new find to my name because South Beach style is more about avoiding clothes all together. It's official: I endorse crop top revival 09!
make like Pammy and forget your pants, but remember your hat?
Recreate a different Fall 09 runway look for a whole week. Bunny ears anyone?
Have a mimosa with your morning oatmeal?
Go to the airport in something Victoria Beckham would wear (sunglasses? Check. Louboutins? Check. Thunderbirds hat? Check.)
Go a whole day without saying the R word (as in recession) we could all use a break--and for that matter eliminate global economy, financial crisis, and debt.
Find the oldest thing in your closet and wear it in a new way?
Enlist a friend to follow you with a camera for a day, paparazzi style?
Oh, RiRi--always stylish even on the beach (which is nearly impossible what with swimwear being so unapologetically cheesy!) I remember seeing this picture about a year ago and loving the mismatched look. Think about it, you wouldn't match your top to your skirt or pants, so why match your bikini?
Starbucks Venti Lattes on the runway at Dsquared²--cute, I get it, but the clothes this season are more mall than Milan. Points for originality, but come on boys--we've seen enough boyfriend jeans and leather jackets--give us something new!
While Sienna and Savannah's new collection possesses all the wearability (read boringness) of pre-fall, I sort of want everything! The green dress screams Jennifer Connelly in Balmain (the one I posted a few weeks ago) but of course more affordable. Denim on the runway rarely gets me excited, but paired with the black shoulder pad top (which I need NOW), there's enough contrast and that trench is just perfect.
Red Carpet fashion enters mall territory once again. Vanessa Hudgens'sMarchesa dress stood a chance, but instead of wearing it at cocktail length, the young actress requested this mermaid situation at the bottom. All is not lost though, I'm on the look out for something pretty in the sea of curtainesque frocks.
